Tailored Managed Cloud Servers for your business
Reliable, performant server infrastructure is the foundation of modern web applications. With tailored Managed Cloud Servers you get infrastructure cut exactly to your business — instead of pre-configured one-size packages that sit somewhere between too small and too expensive.
We run your servers hands-on — provider-neutral across Hetzner, Gridscale, Digital Ocean, OVH, AWS or Google Cloud. With cleanly configured monitoring, backups, updates and 24/7 availability via Slack.
In this article we cover how we ensure performance, security and availability of your applications through consulting, configuration, implementation and support for tailored Managed Cloud Servers.
Server infrastructure we actually run in production
80 %
cost savings on Everysize's cloud exit from AWS to Hetzner — without performance loss.
99.99 %
uptime on our high-load sites — continuously measured with Sentry and Hyperping.
24/7
availability via phone and Slack — direct contact, no ticket system with escalation levels.
What are Managed Cloud Servers?
With Managed Cloud Servers we take over full operation of your server infrastructure — installation, configuration, updates, monitoring, backups and support. Unlike pure hosting, the provider choice stays with you: the cloud bill goes directly to your account, we handle operations.
That gives you the benefits of classic managed hosting — without lock-in to a single hosting provider and without opaque provider markups.
Why tailored Managed Servers?
Standard packages at large hosters are built for the average customer. As soon as your application goes beyond standard — high traffic, app/API integration, high-load spikes, multi-region setup — that no longer fits. With individual configuration and free provider choice you get exactly the resources you need — and none you don't.
We charge a flat fee per server for server management, transparent and independent of the provider bill. You keep full control and transparency — no opaque margins on cloud costs.
What we operate
The tech stack at a glance
Providers: Hetzner, Gridscale, Digital Ocean, OVH, AWS, Google Cloud
OS: Ubuntu LTS (standard), other distributions on request
Region: Germany, EU, US — depending on compliance needs
We consistently use Ansible to automate server configuration — every server is reproducible and audit-ready. Whether classic setup (LAMP/LEMP), container hosting (Docker, Kubernetes) or a specific application like WordPress, Symfony, Matomo or GitLab — we build the stack to fit.
Technologies
nginx / Apache / Caddy
PHP-FPM / Node.js / Python / Ruby
MariaDB / MySQL / PostgreSQL / ClickHouse
Redis / Memcached
Docker / Kubernetes
Ansible for automation
Applications
WordPress, Shopware, Symfony, Laravel
GitLab, Zammad, Matomo
Varnish, Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, RabbitMQ
Cloudflare / BunnyCDN as CDN
Icinga2, Grafana, VictoriaMetrics (monitoring)
What's included in managed-server operations
Tailored initial setup: server provisioning, hardening, SSH access, firewall, automated configuration via Ansible.
24/7 monitoring: Icinga2 for checks, Telegraf for metrics, Grafana for visualisation, VictoriaMetrics as time-series database. Plus Sentry for application errors and centralised log management.
Backup strategy: automated daily backups to S3-compatible storage, geographically distributed, with regular restore tests.
Updates & patches: automated OS security updates at system level; larger updates coordinated during agreed maintenance windows with a host snapshot (e.g. on Hetzner) as rollback point.
SSL certificates: Let's Encrypt with automated renewals, including expiry monitoring.
Performance tuning: ongoing adjustments to database buffer pools, PHP-FPM pool sizes, cache strategies.
Hands-on support: via phone and Slack, no ticket escalation. We know your infrastructure instead of re-learning it every time.
Provider selection: consulting instead of lock-in
We are not tied to a specific provider and advise independently. Depending on the use case that can mean:
Hetzner — affordable, good hardware, German data centres, ideal for most standard workloads.
Gridscale — billing by average rather than peak capacity, ideal for seasonal loads.
Digital Ocean — strong US presence, easy scaling, great developer experience.
OVH — European provider, strong options for GDPR-strict use cases.
AWS / Google Cloud — when you need specific hyperscaler services or are already there.
For growing applications multi-cloud can also make sense — different use cases at different providers with a clear disaster-recovery path. How that looks in practice is shown in our KRUU case study.
Case study: Everysize — cloud exit with 80% cost savings
How a cloud exit onto Managed Cloud Servers looks in practice is shown in our Everysize case study: migration from AWS to Hetzner Cloud, 80% cost savings alongside improved performance. Including tailored MySQL cluster configuration, Elasticsearch migration and an asynchronous workflow via Slack.
We also run Managed Cloud Servers for KRUU (multi-cloud, €20M annual revenue) and FCBinside (WordPress under Bundesliga-grade load), plus other customers we do not name publicly.
"We Manage is an optimal partner for us, providing reliable support for our web applications 24/7. Beyond competent and reliable consulting, we are especially grateful for the fast and direct communication."
FAQ on Managed Cloud Servers
What does a Managed Cloud Server cost?
Costs consist of two parts: direct hosting costs at the provider of your choice (billed to your account) and our management fee per server. That gives you full cost transparency without hidden markups on the cloud bill.
Which providers do you support?
We work regularly with Hetzner, Gridscale, Digital Ocean, OVH, AWS and Google Cloud. Other providers on request — most Linux cloud platforms can be integrated without trouble.
How is this different from classic managed hosting?
With classic managed hosting you pay the provider who also runs the server — with markup and no provider choice. We split this: you choose the provider and pay directly there, we handle operations. That gives you flexibility, cost transparency and avoids lock-in.
How long does migration take?
A pure server takeover or new setup typically takes 1–3 working days. Complete cloud migrations (e.g. AWS exit) take weeks to months — we do that in parallel to running operations, without risk. See the Everysize case study for a concrete example.
Do I get root access?
On request, yes. We work transparently — you see all Ansible playbooks, have SSH access and can make your own adjustments at any time. If you want to take over a server yourself, that's possible without lock-in.
What references do you have?
We run Managed Cloud Servers for KRUU, Everysize and FCBinside, as well as for other customers we do not name publicly.
Conclusion
With tailored Managed Cloud Servers you get infrastructure that fits exactly to your business — with free provider choice, transparent billing and a team that knows your infrastructure instead of reading it from docs.
